School-Based Tuition Assistance

Most El Paso private schools have their own aid: sibling and parish rates, need-based grants through FACTS or a similar form, and sometimes work-study. All of it can sit alongside TEFA.

The Comptroller's tuition guidelines bar a participating school from charging TEFA families a higher price, and they require the school to keep honoring discounts it offers everyone, such as sibling, staff and parishioner rates. A school is allowed to factor the award into need-based aid.

When a school reported discounts to the state finder, we display them on that school's profile page.

At every school on your list, ask the same three things: is it a TEFA participant, which required fees can be billed to the account, and what aid is available for any balance?

Combining it with other sources

Few El Paso families rely on a single source. This one normally works alongside the school's own discounts and at least one more item on this list, and the funding check lays out the exact mix for your child.
