Special needs schooling in El Paso and the IEP money behind it

El Paso's special-education options are small and specialized: a learning-support academy, an inclusive preschool, and a set of approved therapists, some of them bilingual.

What an IEP is worth here

For 2026-27 a mainstream IEP setting totals $16,714 in El Paso ISD, $16,942 in Socorro ISD and $16,974 in Ysleta ISD. Resource or self-contained settings come to $15,645, $15,834 and $15,860. A residential-facility code raises the El Paso ISD total to $25,395.

Schools

El Paso Bridges Academy, a school for students with learning differences such as dyslexia and ADHD, is in the state finder. Several Catholic, Christian and independent schools also report special-education services; our table lists them.

Starting early

Every Little Blessing, listed in the state finder as El Paso Special Needs Education Center, teaches children with Down syndrome alongside typically developing peers and takes TEFA. PDN Children's Inclusive Early Learning Center is also an approved pre-K provider.

Therapists on the approved list

Speech providers include Bilingual Speech Therapy of El Paso and 4 Gen Therapy Services. Desert Star Therapy lists occupational, physical, dyslexia, autism and executive-function support, and ACES and Dino Therapy list behavioral and autism services.

The IEP has to be on file

Only an IEP from 2023-24 or later that TEA has on file counts. If your child doesn't have one, ask your district for an evaluation now; the add-on follows the instructional code, not the diagnosis.

Homeschool with an IEP

The add-on only applies at a participating school or pre-K/K provider. A homeschooled child with an IEP receives $2,000, which can still pay approved therapists.
