TEFA Homeschool / Other ($2,000)

A TEFA student who isn't enrolled at a participating private school, usually a homeschooler, gets $2,000 a year, deposited in full on July 1.

Texas treats a homeschool as a private school and doesn't require registration. The $2,000 account is optional support layered on top, available to homeschoolers who apply and are awarded.

El Paso's approved-provider list is short, about thirty local names, so most homeschool spending will run through statewide online vendors and curriculum sellers. Local options on the list include math and reading tutoring centers, bilingual speech therapy and music instruction.

Moving between tiers is allowed. A homeschooler who enrolls at a participating school moves up to $10,474, and a child who leaves a participating school for home drops to $2,000.

Combining it with other sources

Few El Paso families rely on a single source. This one normally works alongside the school's own discounts and at least one more item on this list, and the funding check lays out the exact mix for your child.
