Lydia Patterson Institute

Christian School for grades 7-12 in El Paso. Not currently in the TEFA finder. Here's how the funding lines up, what the public record says, and the questions worth asking.

Where this comes from. TEFA participation comes from the Texas Comptroller's participating-school finder, checked October 12, 2026. Enrollment and religious affiliation come from the NCES Private School Survey (U.S. Department of Education). Neither source reports tuition, so get current tuition and fees from the school.

Lydia Patterson Institute wasn't on the state's TEFA participating-school list when we looked on October 12, 2026. A school that is accredited and has operated for two years can apply whenever it likes, so ask the office whether an application is in. Until then, the school's own aid, the federal tax-credit scholarships that begin in January 2027 and the participating schools listed nearby are the places to look.

Ask about church-member, pastor-family and sibling rates. The state's tuition guidelines require a participating school to keep offering those to TEFA families, and a school run by a congregation may be eligible for the Edu Fund partner scholarship, open at any income.

The school's most recent federal Private School Survey response (2023-24) listed 234 K-12 students, 20 full-time-equivalent teachers, a 11.7:1 student-teacher ratio, 95% of the previous year's graduates going on to four-year colleges and a 186-day school year.

What to ask the school

  1. Do you take TEFA, and how do you hold a seat for a family whose award comes late?
  2. What does my child's grade cost in tuition and required fees, and which of those fees can be billed to the account?
  3. Do you offer parish, church-member, military or sibling rates, and what aid is available for any balance?
  4. Can you bill on the state's schedule of 25% in July, 25% in October and 50% in February, or do you need a deposit from us first?
  5. Which dual-credit partners do you use, and can those course fees come from the account?
