Radford School

Independent & Secular School for grades PK-12 in El Paso. In the TEFA finder. Here's how the funding lines up, what the public record says, and the questions worth asking.

Where this comes from. TEFA participation comes from the Texas Comptroller's participating-school finder, checked October 12, 2026. Enrollment and religious affiliation come from the NCES Private School Survey (U.S. Department of Education). Neither source reports tuition, so get current tuition and fees from the school.

What the account adds up to over 13 years, kindergarten through grade 12, at the 2026-27 amount

On October 12, 2026 we found Radford School in the Texas Comptroller's list of TEFA participating schools, which means an Education Freedom Account can pay tuition here. The 2026-27 award is $10,474 per student, sent to the school through Odyssey in three installments: a quarter on July 1, another quarter on October 1 and the final half on February 1. Participation requires accreditation from TEA or a TEPSAC-recognized accreditor, at least two years in operation, and a norm-referenced test each year for students in grades 3 through 12.

This school enrolls pre-K students too. The full TEFA award covers a 3- or 4-year-old who meets a state pre-K criterion, and in El Paso the most common are limited English proficiency, free or reduced-price lunch eligibility and a parent on active duty. Kindergarten carries no extra criteria, so a funded child can usually stay on.

Independent schools set their own aid policies. A participating school can take the TEFA award into account when it awards need-based aid, but it can't raise the tuition it charges a TEFA family.

The school's most recent federal Private School Survey response (2023-24) listed 256 K-12 students, 40 full-time-equivalent teachers, a 6.3:1 student-teacher ratio, 100% of the previous year's graduates going on to four-year colleges and a 176-day school year.

Associations (federal survey): State/regional independent school association (e.g., ISAS).

What to ask the school

  1. Do you take TEFA, and how do you hold a seat for a family whose award comes late?
  2. What does my child's grade cost in tuition and required fees, and which of those fees can be billed to the account?
  3. Do you offer parish, church-member, military or sibling rates, and what aid is available for any balance?
  4. Can you bill on the state's schedule of 25% in July, 25% in October and 50% in February, or do you need a deposit from us first?
  5. Are you an approved TEFA pre-K provider, and do you take child care assistance for after-care?
  6. Which dual-credit partners do you use, and can those course fees come from the account?
